New York Intellectual Property Attorney Serving an International Clientele
From our office in Manhattan, we have represented clients in intellectual property cases involving copyright, trademark, trade secret, trade dress, false advertising, and unfair competition in the courts and administrative agencies.
For example, in Odegard, Inc. v. Costikyan
Classic Carpets, we represented Odegard, a leading designer and
manufacturer of hand-knotted Tibetan rugs, against Costikyan, a competitor, on
claims that Costikyan had produced Tibetan rug designs that infringed the
Odegard copyrights. After trial, the United States District Court found that
Costikyan had infringed our client's copyrights, awarded our client damages, a
permanent injunction, and attorneys' fees, and ordered that all of the
infringing rugs be destroyed. We were happy to facilitate the donation of the
rugs to charity as an alternative to their destruction.
Because intellectual property conflicts frequently arise in the employment contract litigation arena, we have gained extensive experience prosecuting intellectual property rights through litigation over agreements barring competition by former employees and disclosure of trade secrets. Trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets are important assets and often possess significant value. Hiring an experienced intellectual property litigator is your first step in protecting your valuable property. Contact Us today to discuss your situation.
