When Arthur R. Lehman was an undergraduate student at Dartmouth, one of his philosophy professors told him that he was too aggressive to teach philosophy in a college, and that he should consider becoming a lawyer where he could deal with issues of justice in his career. A Rufus Choate Scholar, Arthur graduated from Dartmouth College in 1973, and in 1976, he graduated from Columbia University Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar in each of his three years. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1977 and since then has had an active litigation practice in New York. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell.
